Born in Montevideo, Irma Ametrano studies the piano with Wilhem Kolischer and gives her first recital at the age of 13, before entering as soloist at the Symphonic Orchestra of National Radio in Uruguay. Then she obtains a grant to study in Paris at Eliane Richepin course. During this stay, she also follows Marguerite Long courses for interpretation and gives her first concerts in France and Spain. Back to South American she plays in several Tours and records radio and television programs. In Europe, she has had the opportunity to learn from Jörg Demus, Brownia Kavalla, Julia Tamadjeva. Almost unknown from general public (her talent is as unlimited as her discretion!), she is nevertheless considered today as one of the best interpreters for South-American composers, most of whom remains to discover…
