Born in 1973 in Osaka in a family of artists, Kanako Abe begins studying the piano at the age of 2, then a few years later she enters the National University of Fine Arts and Music in Tokyo, where she obtains a composer ‘s graduate. In 1993, she enters a course at CNSM in Paris and gets brilliantly a diploma of upper training of music writing and accompaniment, and two first prizes for orchestration and analysis. She has followed as well the Szolt Nagy courses for Orchestra Direction. Simultaneously to her studies of classical music, she manages arrangements for traditional Japanese songs. In 1994, her arrangement of Sakura for great choir, Japanese drums and piano was played at Carnegie Hall in New York. She lives now in France and develops her musical activities together with her husband, composer Régis Campo.
